The Care Farm started with a simple idea of sharing the joy and comfort that animals and nature bring to me with others.
As a Social Worker, I have worked with clients of all different ages, abilities, needs, and backgrounds. I found that each time my clients had the opportunity to interact with animals, magic started to happen!
They began to smile. They began to laugh. They became engaged. They showed empathy and concern. They felt important.
The benefits were so many that it only made sense to offer the experience to even more individuals in need of support, acceptance, and encouragement.
I look forward to sharing The Care Farm with you!

Farmer Steve
Originally a "city boy" from Boston, I am easing into my life as "Farmer Steve". I have become pretty handy with tools, fencing, construction, and animal care. I help out with whatever is needed at the farm, but I most enjoy driving my tractor and sharing Scout with farm visitors.
Charlene and Jeffrey
My name is Charlene Tabat. My husband and I have lived in Nashua for 32 years. We found it to be a great place to raise a family. I enjoy spending time in our gardens, bird watching, hiking in the National Parks, pizza nights with our son and his wife, and riding and caring for my horse, Jeffrey. I am excited to care for the sweet animals at the Care Farm.
Gretchen, Deniro and Pacino
My name is Gretchen and I live in Merrimack, NH. My feathered and fur family currently consists of 2 dogs, a cat and 5 hens. As a long time educator, I have always enjoyed making connections with my students through our mutual love for animals. Adoption day for my two newest dogs has opened up the opportunity to learn more about training these beautiful boys, DeNiro and Pacino, and hopefully preparing them for a future of service. I find great delight in taking care of the many and varied critters at The Care Farm.
Sofia and Newton
My name is Sofia. I live in Hollis with my many animals: dogs, cats, Guinea pigs, a rabbit, a ferret and multiple arachnids! I spent many years working as an animal educator. I strongly believe that animals can help people feel better; especially by easing one’s anxiety, I know from personal experience! Beyond all that, I have worked with horses for 10+ years, riding and caring for them. I look forward to working at The Care Farm :)
Chris Naughton-
Bee Keeper
My name is Chris, and my family and I have lived in Hollis, NH, for ten years. I am a member of the Monadnock Beekeepers Association and have enjoyed beekeeping as a hobby for several years. In 2024, Beth provided me with an opportunity to bring bees to The Care Farm. If you ever see me out in the apiary (bee yard), feel free to come over and say "Hi!" I am always happy to share everything I know about bees and anything I learn along the way."
